Livin the Hollywood dream'

I'm already back three weeks in California. This weekend I've done lots of stuff. First I went to my first volleyball game UCLA VS UCSB. Many, many people... Eating burritos after, I think I'm the only person living in the states that doesn't like Mexican food. Next morning we left to downtown LA. First we went hiking up the Hollywood hills. We parked in the neighbourhood Beachwood. Its a really awesome place, beautiful houses. Like can I live there please? Just knocking on a rich persons house and ask if they're looking for a cleaner/poolgirl who can live there for free haha? It was a beautiful warm day in LA, and I was wearing my jeans and my heels... I didn't knew we were going to hike. So yup. I've done it. Hiking two hours on heels!!! Never again. But it was worth the shot. There were lots of people hiking and ofcourse they were prepared wearing shorts and water bottles. We had nothing lol. So after that we went to the Beachwood café, its a pretty cool place. I don't know why people always expect California to be healthy? Because we all eat burgers. I swear everyone in that place was eating burgers. Suck that with your healthy quinoa shit. So I couldn't finish my meal ofcourse. Pretty girl walks in. I'm like hey I know that girl? FUCK ITS LANA DEL REY. She was with her friend going to the toilet. I just stood up dragged my friend and he was like who the fuck is lana del rey? I walked to her and said; sorry I'm just really a big fan, do you wanna take a picture. She said; sorry I'm not taking pictures today, but I appreciate that your my fan! I was so confused, shocked... so I walked away without saying bye or thank you. I know I'm a horrible person. But since the beginning you saw my first post on this blog many many years ago. I was 14 and a very big Lana fan, and still are! I just love her music and voice. And I really think its cool that I just got to meet her in the toilet? And I understand she didn't wanna take a picture, she also want her privacy. But I'm glad I saw her! This is my 2nd famous person I've met. Haha the first one wasn't that many posts ago, Miguel Angel Silvestre that was another thing haha. Oh no. So after our shocked meeting with Lana del Rey. We went to the pink wall in Melrose Avenue. The pink wall is this famous wall you see on instagram all the time. It belongs to Paul Smith. So we came there, and there were lots of people like 50 or something? And there was even an security guard. You weren't allowed to take pictures with a professional camera wtf? And not allowed to put your foot on the wall. What ofcourse I did. Bad girl. Ha ha. After that we headed to Santa Monica. Lots of people in Santa Monica, because it was saturday night. We went to the pier, it was my first time on the pier. Lots of cool people singing on the pier. And went on the rollercoaster! That was always on my bucket list. We went to Santa Monica town, its super cool, three blocks, many shops. We ate some nachos. People dancing on the street. Lots of cool people. We headed back home. L.A is my favorite place. I will make a blog post soon about the best places in L.A! Tomorrow I will go to the Film Festival Santa Barbara. I'm super excited. 10 days long I will be watching films, going to director/writer/producers panels, writing film reviews what I will post on my blog. And meeting Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Isabelle Huppert, Casey Affleck. I hope Ryan Gosling will say yes to a picture haha. Anyway wish me luck. Xoxo Laurine

Filmreview: Breathe. (Respire)

A few days ago I watched Breathe on Netflix. Its on the American Netflix. I didn't expect much about the movie. Its ofcourse another French movie! The movie is about Charlie a seventeen-year-old who does well in school. Suddenly there's a new girl in school. Her name is Sarah. She feels attached to Charlie, she immediately wanna become friends with her. Charlie thinks she's cool and wild, and they become best friends. Sarah is the "cool girl" because she's from Africa, and her mom still lives there. Sarah is coming a lot over at Charlie's place, even Charlie's mom likes her. They are going on a weekend trip with Charlie's mom. You notice that Sarah is acting a bit weird. Charlie notice it, and she feels bad because Sarah is giving her the fault. You know right away that Sarah is a bit manipulative. After the weekend trip they act like nothing happend. When suddenly Sarah is telling a bullshit story again. Charlie knows she's lying. Sarah is bullying Charlie, talks shit about her, told everyone the secret that she is a virgin. Charlie feels so bad. So one day she follow Sarah from school, and notice that Sarah lied about everything she lives in the ghetto and her mom is an alcoholic. On New Year's eve Charlie speaks to Sarah that she doesn't care that she lied, and that she will tell no one. Sarah whisper in her ear that she's going to murder her if she's gonna tell the secret. Games on. The bullying continues. One day Sarah knocks on Charlie's door crying with a bruise that her mother hit her. They sleep together. Charlie thinks everything is ok. That they're still friends. They walk together to school just round the corner Sarah tells Charlie I don't want to walk with you to school. What will people think you and me? Charlie is upset. Next day Sarah knocks again on Charlie's door because she left her sweater there. The school is coming to an end. The exams are done. Sarah tells Charlie that she's going to study in Paris with a friend from school and they will become rich and successful, and she tells Charlie you're going to end up in this shitty town on a stupid college and boring life. She talks bad about Charlie's parents. Charlie feels so mad she chokes Sarah with her pillow. And in the end Charlie's crying... This was a very sad movie, also how cruel people can be. This story is used in lots of movies. Example: Mean Girls. She becomes friends with Regina and then she bullies her. But this movie was different like the end, and how she used Charlie. Just be careful who you're friends with ;-) because I have experienced the same with my 'best friend' who end up bullying me. Charlie looks a lot like Kendall Jenner, and Sarah looks like Brigitte Bardot. The director is French actress Mélanie Laurent. Not many directors are women but it was nice to see one in this movie. Girls rule!

Heading back to L.A

So tomorrow I'm going back to L.A !
Its been 5 weeks being in my home country Holland. I was happy to see my parents and my dog. I'm not looking forward to my flight. 24 hours tho. Amsterdam ✈️ London ✈️ Los Angeles. Wish me luck. I will have my three months spring semester, with new film subjects. In three months, beginning May I'm coming home again. I will have a super long summer break THREE MONTHS. Yay. This christmas break went by quick. Not many people cared about me asking how I've been. Only my parents and this other person. Anyway those people will never ask how it is with me, so why should I care? Oh fuck. I'm scared. I'm nervous. I hate flying. I will post a picture next month with Ryan Gosling haha ;) lets hope. xoxo Laurine

*Praying I will sit next to skinny person*
I will miss you so much Kylie, see               you soon, three months❤

My movie picks

So yesterday the golden globes came up. So proud of the Dutch director Paul Verhoeven! With his golden globe for Ellé. I really wanna see this movie. Paul Verhoeven is Dutch, and one day he tried to be a part of the Hollywood film industry. And he made it in Hollywood. He tried to film the movie Ellé, but it was very hard to find an actress for that movie, because the story is kind of shocking. So he tried it in France only biggest problem he coudn't talk French. So how was he supposed to direct a movie in a language he couldn't speak? He spend three months at the French nuns. And since then he made the movie. With a very famous French actress, and an Dutch editor. I saw the movie was nominated for the Santa Barbara Film Festival. So I hope I can see it.
                           Ellé.

In exactly a month the SBFF is coming up. I'm super excited. I already told you guys Ryan Gosling is coming with Emma Stone for LalaLand.

                      Lalaland.

And I heard Casey Affleck is also coming. I need to write everyday two film reviews of the festival. I need to practice a bit. So be prepared for film reviews :)

Recently best movies/series I've seen on Netflix:

Une chance de trop

You gotta watch this serie. I watched it like in a week but thats cuz I'm a addict. Its a French serie taking place in Paris. First thing I noticed the character is named 'Miss Lambert'. Well haha funny that she has the same last name as me. I'm not gonna spoil the serie. But it makes you wanna watch more and more!

• Carrie (1976)

There are two Carrie's. The first Carrie I've seen was the remake, not as good as the original. So I watched with my mom the 1976 original Carrie. This was the first horror movie my mom saw when she was young. Ok first let me explain what the fuck happend in the first scene. So the movie literally starts verrry erotic ( male perspective of what happens in the girls school shower 😂), bad acting, Travolta slaps his girlfriend, Teacher slaps kids, modern f swearing, very violent.... Its a stupid movie but go watch it if you have nothing to do like me.

• Bang gang

I watch too many French movies. They have btw a lot on the American netflix. This movie is literally about a big bang gang. Entire school has sex with each other. The girl playing the lead character looks like Brigitte Bardot, and she's wearing the entire movie sloppy shirts and she still looks good in it. Me wearing sloppy shirts I"ll be looking like I just opened a meth lab. Literally.

• Jeane et Jolie

ANOTHER FRENCH MOVIE. I KNOW. I should have studied film in France? Wtf I'm doin' in L.A. You might recognize this picture. I don't know maybe you don't. While I was watching this movie and this scene came up I was freaking out because I was like holy shittt I know that picture thats that girl no one's serious at 17. It was very impressive when I was seventeen and saw this picture on the interweb. Anyway this movie is called Young & Beautiful. French girl loses her virginity on a holiday in the South of French with a German guy. It was horrible just like for every girl. So then the movie continues she's being back in Paris and she ends up being a seventeen year old prostituete. But the movie is alright and the actress is a famous model.

January thoughts

My first blog post in 2017! I reached twenty - three posts in 2016. And 31.000 views, what the fuck? With most views America, whats up murica! And Russia Что вверх? Дайте мне водку :) And France !!!! BONJOURRR. Je ne parle pas français. Je suis à moitié français très hein! PUTAIN... Je sais que le français jure mots. I'm also back in Holland now. Jaaa bitterballen en oliebollen. Anyway I got no pictures to post, because pictures in Holland in the winter is no reason for it. So here's something I stumbled on instagram. I like the text. I'm not a 'New Years Resolution type' what I absolutely hate. Its just a text, got nothing to do with crappy resolutions every year. I'm to lazy for that shit.

" Spend money. Change your hairstyle. Sell your old clothes and pursue your new style with the money you get from it. Be strong. Be patient. Get drunk if you want to, but not every weekend. Buy a chocolate bar every week when your favorite tv show is on. Take hot baths. Wake up early. Start jogging. Write. Find a friend who will listen to you and don’t stop until you find it. Study. Read. Make your Instagram cool. Write some more. Get that damn piercing. Buy bath bubbles and bath more. Adore your body. Shave, for yourself. Book flights for next spring. Write this day down, write it all down. Cry. Finally feel some homesickness. Learn to be in silence. Learn to stand being alone. Feel smart at school. Spend a weekend alone. Take lots of selfies. Eat chocolate while watching reality tv-shows. Meditate. Stretch. Learn ballet. Learn to be with yourself. "
